10th International Workshop

Methods for the

Development and

Evaluation of Maritime

Technologies

-DEMaT’11 –

Split, Croatia

October 26-29, 2011

OBJECTIVE AND TOPICS

The workshop DEMaT’11 is the tenth in a series of meetings on methods for the development and application of maritime technologies, which have been held since 1993.

From the very first, DEMaT has been a specific podium for the presentation and discussion of scientific engineering methods in selected fields of maritime technologies particularly in fishing technology as well as in marine aquaculture and oceanographic engineering.

Thus the DEMaT workshops have especially become an important forum for the international progress in scientifically based engineering methods for both the development of novel fish capturing systems and the improvement of fishing gears. Therefore mathematical modeling, numerical simulation, up-to-date methods for laboratory experiments as well as new techniques for full scale tests at sea stay in the focus of interest.

Because of the great interest which has been shown during the last meetings the organizers are highly motivated to prepare the tenth meeting as a further highlight for professionals, graduates and students.

The planned workshop is intended to deal with fluid- structure interactions of technical systems in a marine environment.

Following the tradition of excellence of previous DEMaT workshops, approximately 25 technical presentations are planned in five symposia:

Mathematical modelling and numerical simulation as well as experimental methods for the analysis of loads, stresses and motions of compliant marine structures induced by currents, waves and wind

Methods of analyzing and predicting the influence of

            structures on the marine environment

Engineering methods in fishing technology as well as

            in marine aquaculture

Innovation in survey and observation of the marine environment as well as in data recording, storage and transmission

Application of computer-aided methods (CAD, CFD)

            in maritime technology

PAPER SUBMISSION

You wish to present results of your research project?

In this case, please, pay attention to the deadlines for submission of abstracts and papers.

After notification of acceptance the authors are requested to deliver their ready-to-print manuscript.

All papers are intended to be published in the proceedings in English (Book with ISBN-number).

These proceedings are part of the conference documents. Therefore it will be required to prepare papers according to our demands ready for the press.

The time for presenting the contents of each paper (paper manuscript) should not exceed 20 minutes. A thematic poster presentation is also possible.
