Sveučilište u Splitu podržava UN-ove ciljeve održivog razvoja

The doctoral study program in Applied Marine Sciences is extremely multidisciplinary in its content, as it builds on the basic knowledge of natural sciences, especially biological, chemical and physical oceanography, and biotechnical marine sciences, with knowledge from specific areas necessary for designing proper (or sustainable) management and protection of the Adriatic Sea. The study program is organized at the level of the latest scientific knowledge and skills based on them in cooperation with scientific institutions that are engaged in marine research, which also provides great opportunities for the practical training of such personnel. The scientific programs of the institutions involved in the study program enable the inclusion of students in areas of scientific work that are the foundations of applied marine sciences. The organizers and providers of the study program: the University of Split and the University of Dubrovnik jointly conduct the doctoral study program in the scientific field of natural and biotechnical sciences. The doctoral study program in Applied Marine Sciences lasts three years, or 6 semesters, and at least 180 ECTS credits are acquired. Upon completion of this doctoral study, the academic title of Doctor of Science (Dr. Sc.), equivalent to Ph.D., is awarded in the scientific field that is most closely related to the topic of the doctoral thesis (natural or biotechnical sciences).
